Service Levels From USPS Shipping
Nobody’s perfect and that’s a fact. Everyone,
at least once in their life, has made mistakes. You can’t
expect anyone to perform perfectly, whoever they are. So
it is with the shipping business, with all the items to be
sent anywhere around the world, there’d always be lost
items and late deliveries. The US Postal Service is not
spared from this. It has faced both good and bad feedbacks
from those who have experienced its services, sentiments
that clients have about having USPS shipping their
packages. This article will point out the “not so good”
things people say about the USPS’ service.
USPS have the cheapest rates in shipping items.
And the majority takes advantage of these low rates. As what
one eBay seller puts it, “USPS is a horrible, yet affordable
way to ship.” There’d always be long lines in postal offices to
drop their items to be shipped or to claim the ones shipped to
them. People are always hustling and bustling in the post
offices. These people complain about the poor service given by
postal employees. They’re unsympathetic and unhelpful. Of
course, you cannot tarnish every USPS employee, every client
wants to be treated well by whatever establishment they make
deals with.
One important aspect in shipping is the speed. People want
their items to arrive to their destinations on time if not
earlier than expected. But it seems that many are complaining
about late arrivals of many shipments carried by USPS. One
tells he has sent a gift via USPS’ global priority which is
expected to arrive after 4-5 business days but 3 weeks has
passed with no gift arriving to the supposed recipient. It can
be said that speed is one of the aspects shipping firms must
have edge against its competitors to get the customers’
loyalty, but it seems USPS hasn’t acted on this yet.
People are also noting lost shipments by
USPS. Worse than having late shipments, are lost items. Some
may be worth a large amount. Some items can determine the whole
business for a certain shipper. What would happen to them if
they can’t get their buyers’ ordered goods delivered to them?
This could mean a business’ downfall.
There are many risks shippers face when sending their
messages or goods to another place. It is a gamble. For USPS to
gain people’s trust, it must try to listen to these comments
and do something about them.
